Kansas City Wedding at Madrid Theatre

Wedding Photos at Loews Hotel Kansas City

I loved every second of working with Kat & Ben. Neither are native to KC - Kat is from Texas and Ben is from Indiana. Bringing their families together from across the country was important to them, and their wedding day was a perfect representation of the laid-back nature of their relationship. They both got ready for their wedding at the Loews Hotel in Downtown Kansas City. After a first look on the terrace at Loews, we hopped around to a couple of Kansas City staples for portraits with their bridal party before heading to their ceremony and reception at the Madrid Theatre. Wild Hill provided amazing planning services and beautiful florals for the event space. Patrick Lentz Band kept everyone dancing all night after a beautiful dinner served by one of my favorite Kansas City Wedding Caterers, Brancatos. I would do this day over and over again if I could! So excited to share these images!

Best Locations for Kansas City Wedding Photos

I have become a huge fan of photos on the terrace at Loews Hotel. It has an amazing view of the Kauffman Center and beautiful light at almost anytime of day. I also love the chandelier in the staircase that has quickly become another iconic Kansas City wedding photo spot, and the lobby of the hotel is another gorgeous location for indoor photos if the weather outside isn’t cooperating. Loews continues to be one of my favorite choices for getting ready for your wedding in downtown Kansas City. The hotel has great light and allows for so much flexibility when you’re trying to do photos but still want to stay hidden from a majority of your guests.

Kansas City Wedding Bands

This truth didn’t really hit me until I had the opportunity to be a REAL wedding guest at my cousin’s wedding in St. Louis - but having a wedding band really does make a huge impact on the tone of your reception! There is something about the performance aspect of a live band that really encourages all of your guests to be engaged in a way that having a DJ can’t necessarily guarantee. I think that it’s probably because older generations can rest assured that there will be a good mix of new and old tunes throughout the evening, but I think the energy of having a live performance is the biggest reason that having a band is always a good idea! I’ve been lucky enough to work with Patrick Lentz Band several times and all of their musicians are SO incredibly talented and their vocalists are extremely energetic and can engage a crowd. I would recommend them time and again!
