Morgan and Rob’s Floral-Filled Kansas City Garden Wedding

Kansas City Wedding Photographer

When Morgan and Rob reached out to me about photographing their wedding at Morgan’s grandfathers’ home in Kansas City, I couldn’t have been more excited. Hosting a wedding at a city venue is great, but there’s something really special about experiencing your wedding day in a place that has sentimental ties to your family. Morgan got ready in the comfort of her parents’ home with her closest friends. Bronzed and Blushed did an amazing job on the girls’ hair and make-up in the sunroom. Morgan put her wedding dress on in her parents’ bedroom and shared a moment with her bridesmaids in the living room at her family’s home. Even her parents’ 11 year old poodle, Lily, wore a wedding dress for the occasion. Rob and his guys got ready nearby in the community clubhouse. Morgan and Rob shared letters with one another before seeing each other during the ceremony later that afternoon.

Family Estate Weddings

One of the best parts about having the wedding at the family’s estate was the intimacy of the setting. When they decided to cut down their guest list, global pandemic being taken into consideration, the backyard at her grandparents’ home made the perfect backdrop for a smaller gathering. Their guests enjoyed cocktails by the pool while the Trio Fontana string band provided a beautiful soundtrack. The ceremony was held in front of the pergola in the backyard, covered a beautiful floral display by Sidelines. After the ceremony, Morgan and Rob shared a few private moments in front of the home, where her grandfather’s classic car was waiting for their send-off later that evening.

Coodination

I knew from the moment that I first spoke to Morgan and Rob that this would be a beautiful celebration with a ton of detail and thoughtfulness put into it. That’s why I was overjoyed when they hired Kindra with Simple Elegance to do their planning. Kindra and her team brought their vision to life. She’s wonderful at gathering a team of the best Kansas City wedding vendors to serve each of her couples’ unique needs. As a vendor, I always appreciate her speedy and thorough communication. It’s a great feeling to walk into a wedding day knowing that the people you’re working alongside are all there to support one another, and I couldn’t recommend Kindra and her girls more.

Kansas City Backyard Wedding Decor

Speaking of phenomenal Kansas City wedding vendors - Karyn with Sidelines always delivers the most stunning wedding decor and florals. The entire estate was beautifully covered in these fresh and brightly colored floral arrangements. I caught guests leaning in to smell the flowers more than once. I especially loved the hanging terrariums above the head table and the arrangement they made for the cake from McLain’s Bakery. The tent set up by Marquee was completed transformed by their work and set the perfect tone for their intimate wedding reception.

Dinner

I’d be lying if I tried to pretend that one of the best perks of my job isn’t getting to experience the delicious talents of Kansas City’s best caterers every weekend. Inspired Occasions catered a beautiful dinner under the tent for Morgan and Rob’s friends and family.

Dancing

The night wouldn’t have been complete without a little dancing under the stars. Ryan with Elite Events kept the jams going as Morgan and Rob’s guests kept the party going outside until late in the evening. When the night finally had to come to close, everyone gathered on the front steps of the estate to send the couple off with a sparkler exit. The day was a dream from start to finish.

Kindra and her team really nailed it with the coordination of this beautiful wedding day. If you’re looking for a planner and want to see more of my work with Kindra, here’s another Kansas City wedding we did together at The Grand Hall at the Power and Light building.
