Iconic Downtown Kansas City Wedding Photos

In preparation for their upcoming Kansas City wedding at A Secret Garden in Independence, Cecilia and Cody decided to do an engagement session in downtown Kansas City. We met in the crossroads district and made our way around the streets to find the best light and some of my favorite little pockets of KC for portrait sessions. I love shooting in crossroads because there are so many rooftop views of the Kansas City skyline at public parking lots in this area. In addition to colorful murals, crossroads has so much iconic neon Kansas City signage and gorgeous historic buildings that totally set the vibe for a downtown session. I think doing photos downtown is a great option for any couple who met and have fond memories of this district together. The streetcar makes it easy to travel across a wide area of downtown, and there’s such a variety of places worthy of being the backdrop to some iconic downtown Kansas City photos.
