The Guild Weddings in Kansas City

Kansas City Wedding Photographers

Kayla and Colton had their winter wedding at Kansas City Wedding Venue, The Guild. The venue is located in the heart of the Crossroads district. The Guild offers an outdoor garden space, with cafe lighting and a beautiful view of the skyline to the North. The indoor space is extremely versatile, with subway tile walls, exposed brick, industrial-vibe concrete flooring, and a giant, striking chandelier in the middle of the dance floor. The space is extremely versatile, and offers the ability to serve a large variety of wedding styles. The staff at The Guild is top notch - friendly, experienced, and so dedicated to their couples and vendors. Another perk is that the space has a separate room for cocktail hour. The transition between garden, cocktail hour and reception space is seamless, with no need for a room flip if your ceremony is outside!

Wedding Photos in Crossroads District of Kansas City

Kayla was really excited for the opportunity to give her friends from out of town the full Kansas City experience by walking from their hotel in downtown Kansas City to the venue in Crossroads, stopping for a cocktail along the way! We did a few wedding portraits in Crossroads. It was a really chilly day, but this was such a fun idea and a great way to show their people around the city. Crossroads is a great area for wedding and engagement photos because of all of the colorful murals, rooftops for skyline views, and impeccable Kansas City charm.

Why You Should Have Late Night Pizza at Your Wedding Reception

If you’re already planning on having an open bar and a full dance floor, serving a little snack toward the end of the night might be a great way to send your guests off. They’ll be grateful the next day when their hangover is even a little less, ha! Kayla and Colton had pizza delivered to the reception from local Kansas City Pizza restaurant, Pizza Shuttle. It was a massive hit, I don’t think there was any left by the end of the night! It also made for some very cute photo opportunities.

Thoughtful Wedding Details that Highlight Your City

It was important to Kayla and Colton that their love for Kansas City be an obvious highlight of their wedding. Kayla’s uncle, from Pennsylvania, happened to be a huge Chiefs fan. During the reception, DJ Alex Reed played a round of Kansas City Chiefs tunes and Kayla presented her Uncle with a Chiefs Jersey. It was a special homage to the city where they fell in love.
