Hotel Kansas City Tudor Room Wedding
Kansas City Wedding Photographer
When Lexie and TK reached out to me about their wedding at Hotel Kansas City, I knew we were going to be a great fit. Aside from a handful of portraits of the two of them and their families (literally 15 minutes in total!) they requested the entire day be photographed documentary style. I love when I get to step back and just observe the day as it unfolds, and it is the best feeling when my couples trust me to do this!
Hotel Kansas City Weddings
My favorite thing about photographing weddings at Hotel Kansas City is that everything can happen all in one place. There is truly no reason to leave. From the beginning of the day in the hotel, all the way to the end of the reception, everything you could need is here inside of the hotel. There are a variety of historic rooms available for portraits and event rentals, a delicious restaurant located through the lobby, and a fun bar in the basement to head down after the reception wraps up. Not to mention that they have in-house catering - Hotel Kansas City is truly a one-stop shop but everything about it is so high quality. Lexie and TK were marred in the Tudor Room, featuring a wall of beautiful two-story stained glass windows, a balcony level for cocktail hour, and iconic black and white checkered flooring which pops against the red curtains.
Red Wedding Florals with Tomatoes
Thorne Floral is one of the most talented wedding florists in Kansas City. I love the unexpected and playful touch that her work possesses. Her monochromatic designs are always some of my favorites, and the red florals against the red curtains in the Tudor Room were the perfect match. I also loved that she incorporated fresh plums and tomatoes into the design. It felt like the perfect nod to summer.
