Backyard Wedding in Little Rock

Corinna & Jordan’s Backyard Wedding. Well, front yard, technically.

Corinna and Jordan’s wedding, like many, went through a state of evolution as COVID foiled our 2020 plans and forced a reschedule for the following summer. With grace and flexibility, they leaned into the change and opted to celebrate at Jordan’s parents’ house outside of Little Rock. The ceremony took place on the front steps, a cocktail hour by the pool, and a gorgeous custom tent was set up outside their home for the dance floor and reception.

TLF Event Wedding Coordination

Justin with Tanarah Lux Floral was an amazing asset to their wedding day! He and his assistant were hilarious, first of all, and their sense of humor balanced perfectly with their professionalism, making the entire day run smoothly and effortlessly. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the tent was - and I couldn’t stop photographing it! It seemed like at every part of the day the light would hit these tables in a different way and the glow from the candles and gold details was so gorgeous once the sun had set. The floral arrangements were amazing. I loved the citrus that they mixed into the centerpiece of the head table. This custom tent by Mahaffey Tent and Rentals was so beautiful at night! I have such a soft spot for tents with clear cut-outs in the ceiling. Being able to see the bright blue sky from beneath the stringed lights adds such a romantic contrast to the setting. 10/10.

Why I Love Weddings at Home

A million reasons. Being able to get ready in an environment where you’re already comfortable is totally priceless. Being able to sneak upstairs to get snacks from the fridge, pet your dog whenever you want, and pee in the comfort of your own bathroom on your wedding day? I am not sure what could be more important. Home is where we hold the memories of our family’s most precious moments. Everyone knows a house is so much more than a home. The people we invite into it bring their own energy and I believe it lingers there long after the party is over. What could be a more beautiful christening of one’s home than to hold space for their loved ones to wed there?! Carla and Ron were so kind to host this event and I hope they still feel all of that love floating around every time they walk through their front door.

Other Little Rock Wedding Vendors Who Made it Happen:

Corinna’s dress was from J. Lynn Bridal in Lawrence, Kansas. The cake was made by her beautiful friend and bridesmaid Sydney Nowak. Makeup was by Jordan Boda and hair by Alicia Miller. Catering was by Heritage Catering (I’m still thinking about those mashed potatoes.) Chris Hoskins kept the dance floor flowing and Susan McDougal led their ceremony.
