Schwinn Produce Farm Wedding

Kansas City Wedding Photographers

“Having Hallie photograph our wedding was a dream, from the first phone call to the first proofs. She’s fun to hang out with and put us both at ease, so all you see in our pictures is the love between us— not some awkward pose we would never do in real life. I really appreciated the time she made to sit with us and talk through the plan for the whole day— I felt confident we weren’t going to miss anything. Then, actually having her there felt like having a really good and really talented friend show up! Her professionalism and dedication to detail really back up the gorgeous photos that make you want to book her. I can’t recommend Hallie enough!” - Melody & Bobby.

Melody and Bobby's gorgeous fall Kansas City wedding took place at The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm in Leavenworth, Kansas. They intentionally included so many details about their relationship into the planning of their wedding day. Both are huge fans of baseball, barbecue, and bluegrass, so these three themes set the tone for a majority of the day. Family being a huge priority for both of them, Melody and Bobby asked Melody's father, Ed, to be the officiant for their ceremony. It was incredibly sweet. I love when couples incorporate family members into these important roles.

The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm was such a great venue to work at. I loved the outdoor wedding lawn nestled into a little grove to the west of the barn. The bridal house was another great perk of the venue - it was super spacious, allowing for Melody's sister and friends to get ready alongside her. The barn also offered a hay ride to the couple after they exited the ceremony, taking us to a gorgeous view of wheat fields near the property for portraits as we neared sunset. I loved that they had a fire pit close to the barn as well, so guests could sneak away during the reception to get some fresh air and enjoy a view of the full moon. The barn has heated flooring and is very spacious - holding up to 250 guests. This venue would be perfect for any season because of the versatility of the indoor and outdoor spaces. There is also a limestone terrace on the north side of the barn that was a perfect spot for family photos! I love the farmland that surrounds this venue. Any excuse to venture outside of the city for a weekend gets me pumped.

Another interesting detail was the DIY florals that they made using Flower Moxie. I was so impressed by the quality of the florals and I loved that the company offers tutorials on building your bouquets with their bulk flowers. They offer a huge variety of flowers and ship them to your door with tons of instructional content on how to assemble and create centerpieces that will impress everyone.
