The Elms Hotel and Spa Wedding

The Elms Hotel and Spa in Excelsior Springs

Hosting your wedding at a luxurious hotel is a great idea for a lot of reasons. You can get ready just steps away from where you have your ceremony. Your guests can use your wedding weekend as an excuse for a staycation (or a vacation!) and when the night is over, you’re only an elevator ride away from your honeymoon suite. The Elms in Excelsior Springs is the perfect destination for a wedding. Located just a little bit outside of Kansas City, the hotel is nestled into the cutest little town with tons of history and local businesses for your guests to explore and experience. My favorite thing about The Elms is the grotto located in their spa. The spa has a dry and steam sauna, a hot tub and a cold plunge shower. It even has a self-service exfoliation bar! Your guests will thank you for inviting the to experience a soothing weekend getaway, and you’ll thank yourself for having your wedding at the most relaxing location ever.

Outdoor Ceremony at The Elms

Before the ceremony, Katie and Sam both got ready in their suites at the hotel with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. They decided to have their ceremony in the gazebo outside. While Katie and Sam opted for a smaller wedding in lieu of a full-sized celebration, the gazebo can hold up to 300 guests. It’s nestled into the woods behind the hotel, with gorgeous wooded areas and a creek that runs behind. The fall foliage was so pretty as a backdrop! After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour on the patio next to the pool.

Hotel Ballroom Reception at The Elms

The ballrooms at the hotel are luxurious and make the perfect canvas for whatever your vision is for the reception decor. Katie and Sam hired Steve’s florals from Kansas City to do their arrangements for the day. Their dinner was catered by The Elms, who do a wonderful job using locally sourced ingredients and offer a variety of cuisine options. Levity Events provided the entertainment for the evening, and Katie and Sam enjoyed a night of dancing and celebration with their closest family and friends.
